Job Search: VP of Product Development

Our Consumer Products recruiting team is working with a market leading company located in Burlington, VT for a VP of Product Development position.  The VP will play a vital role in leading research, development, and engineering efforts. In addition to the internal team, the VP will establish partnerships with universities and external R & D partners as needed to develop and propagate bleeding edge technologies and manufacturing processes. Qualifications:
  • BSME or Engineering Degree
  • Knowledge of Program Management Tools (Gantt Chart, Master Action Lists, Resource Tracking, Product & Development Cost Tracking)
  • Experience with eyewear, ski/snowboard bindings, footwear, or sporting goods required
  • 8+ years in Program Management and Technical Product Design
  • Effective communicator and presenter with strong leadership skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Strong business orientation, analytical aptitude, retail math and computing skills

East Coast Regional Sales Director (New England or Mid Atlantic)

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Business Development, the Eastern Regional Sales Director will provide leadership and day-to-day tactical direction to drive sales in the region.


Responsibilities:

·         Manage four Sales Representative Groups in their assigned region(s) to develop profitable sales and promotional strategies for the territories.

·         Responsible for the sales interface with several key national accounts headquartered in the assigned region.

·         Works closely with existing customers and develops new customers, negotiates annual programs, and maintains internal communications and follow-up.

Experience:

·         B.S. or B.A. plus 10 years of sales experience required

·         5 years professional sales leadership and management experience needed

·         Experience selling into the specialty, sporting goods, or related channels desired

o Develop and manage annual sales operating budget.
o Prepare, communicate and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the sales organization.

o Experience providing strategic and creative leadership as a Senior Sales Executive of a complex, high performance manufacturing company known as a market leader.
o Have partnered with a senior management team in an environment of continuous improvement and on-going growth.
o Had success working in a process-driven organization to achieve scalability and predictability within the sales function.
o Have experience, contacts, and credibility selling through multiple distribution channels.
o Leadership experience that includes: recruiting, training, developing, and retaining a high performance sales team
o Have worked in a customer focused business and understand the commitment needed to put the needs of the customer first.
o International experience preferred.

This VP Marketing position is a ideal opportunity for a proven leader interested in the challenge of taking the company to the next level.

Responsibilities include directing and synchronizing all marketing efforts for the company, and ensuring the consistency and integrity of the brand positioning as depicted through all points of customer contact. This includes being responsible for product assortment planning and merchandising in all three direct channels including catalog, web, and at retail stores. The VP Marketing will direct creation and implementation of product strategy in support of the company brand and financial goals.

Leadership and people management experience a must. Bachelor’s degree or MBA preferred.
